Dictator. They got that right

As Ahmed-Dinner-Jacket leaves the Presidency the one thing Iranians know is that he had a position without power. The real power lies with the 12 members of the Religious Council and their leader. They know a dictator when they see one.

Iran dissident's funeral turns into anti-government protest

Tens of thousands have attended the funeral of a senior dissident cleric, in what became Iran's biggest anti-government protest for years.

Ayatollah Jalaluddin Taheri died at the age of 87 on Sunday in Isfahan.

He was a vocal opponent of the hardliners in power in Iran and had resigned from his post in protest.

Mourners at the funeral chanted slogans against the government and Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing him as a dictator.

Protesters also called for the release of all political prisoners, including the two top leaders of the reformist green movement who are under house arrest in Tehran.

Ayatollah Taheri was a pro-reformist Friday prayer leader in Isfahan, one of the largest cities in Iran.

It is the biggest such protest in Iran in the past few years, and interestingly the police did not intervene, says Kasra Naji of BBC Persian.

The authorities are careful not to provoke public anger just 10 days ahead of the presidential elections, observers say.

99.9% are idiot..this shows how accurate people are in making judgements..

By the way these are some funny politicians quotes I love the most..

"Politicians are like sperm. One in a million turn out to be an actual human being."

"Advertising men and politicians are dangerous if they are separated. Together they are diabolical."

"Politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly and for the same reason."

One funny thing is that some of them are worse than diapers who acts as democratic leader for their country but as behind the scene dictators for other countries.

Demos Kratos ,, People Power

Some people if they get the power ,, or practiced the democracy will lead their countries to a horrible situations.

Thelo,,,,you are partially right

Power and money brings the extreme in you, The extreme bad or the extreme good

Luckily the most of what we have are extremely bad

Countries are always ruled by thugs. In democracy, you have a right to choose thugs who would rob your taxes.

I wish that people can apply it

If i said i hate Iran, I don't hate the people but i hate the politicians and the people whom are hiding behind the religions to excuse their criminal acts.

If the government had acted, they would have been accused of heavy handedness to quell displeasure.

They didn't and they are being accused of not acting for selfish reasons..

Such is politics and political reporting.

Yes power corrupts and absolute power, corrupts absolutley.....

It's not about hating muslims brothers, it is about Iranians being denied freedoms and being oppressed in their own country. Religion is the tool being used to oppress them.

By snakyy21• 5 Jun 2013 11:51
snakyy21

And yes Iranians are not Arabs... but close neighbours... and there are a few commonalities which nobody can deny... i mean an Australian (nothing against Australians... just an example) would have a lot less in common with an Arab than Iranian.

At the end of the day people are ponds in the hands of powerful few... power corrupts... so you get corresponding consequences... people of power like the emphasize differences so that they can create a little playground for themselves... hence the separatist movement all over the world... even developed... for instance Scots and Brits... i mean you think politician care for people... no... they want power.. and they play on people's stupidity

I love Iranians :) Like Iran Foreign Minister said not to interfere and STFU from our elections...so why not let them do what they want.. today or tomorrow if they have internal resistance it will blow up.. all countries have internal problems... what do you think of democracies in many other countries..it is bull5hit with just two parties.... In some countries religious leaders dominate elections and other corporates do the same..

By snakyy21• 5 Jun 2013 11:49
snakyy21

Why so much hatred towards our Muslim brothers.. or even people of other religions... religions not supposed to ignite hatress... not supposed to separate.. but to unite...they have the same common core.... and it is abou loving your neighbour.... it is about tolerance... it is about being nice and good to each other... let's focus on similiarities not differences... we all have two legs .... two arms.. one head.... the tears of a monther are the same all over the world... the blood is the same...

Saddahm, I don't understand your comments, Iranians are not Arabs. There is a minority of Arabs on the border with Iraq but very small in number. There are also Jews in Iran.

Mimi, there were huge protests after the last presidential election which the government ruthlessly suppressed. Iran has the majority of population under the age of 30 and want change from the religious dictatorship that has held power since the 79 revolution.

as arabs we have one religion , same culture, norms , identity , language, traditions and the same ancestry that goes back to al jazeerah al arabiya (arabic peninsula )

including palestine and the alahwaz region of iran and spain

what ever happens and what ever conflicts we have are between brothers and our people will always help each other in the time of need and we surley do not need a foreigner that shows hate in his disscusions and comments that speak of poison and try to stab anything that he doesnt like and relate to in and about us to teach us who we are
