Increasing house rents in Qatar

Really Qatar government should look into this problem of increasing house rents in Qatar, especially in Doha...

Every Company is setting up high rents with their own wish, somebody should b there to control these...

Worst case happening in Thumama now a days: one big villa modification works were going on, and they are modifying a bedroom and when i checked it was a big kitchen before with a floor drain, heater connection, exahust fan etc etc etc... one hall has been partitioned with 2 BHK Flat... really disgusting..

Qatari government should really look into this matter and limit the rents based on the quality/standards of the flat...

what do you say QL Members ??

it's business.

The rule is, if you opted to live-out, then you negotiate with the owner or whoever had taken the property from the owner. Until such time that a rule prohibiting partitioning of villas, the practice will continue as the demand for such is growing.

Only Qatar govt could help us... they should not allow partitioned houses after a house is already planned and approved by Baladiya...

One flat i saw 1 BHK with big bedroom and small hall, i told the agent that i was looking for 2 BHK then suddenly he told me that 1 bedroom is big i will make partition in it so that it will be 2 bedrooms but rent will increase to 500QR... how shameful act it is infront of me he is saying the same thing.. its all disgusting to dealt with them...

How do one get the contact of the owner to talk to him directly? More importantly is it possible to talk to all the owners directly? I mean how do you talk to them...over phone (how to get their no.), going to their office (how to get the address), residence (again, how to get the address).

If all people would not want to rent till they meet the owner, the rent would be resonable!..i rented in al hilal 3yrs ago,i dealt with a pakistani 3BR old flat 4500 after one year he said rent will be 5000,another year he came and said another 500 more ..so he wanted 5500,the house ws very old!!my son met our neighbour irani guy,he askd him how much rent?when he heard 5500 he was shocked. the guy said their rent is v less,i decided to tell the pakistani guy that,im going to report him to the police.he got scared and said ok pay me same rent!but as i was looking for another flat.i just moved out.As i said if anyone is looking for house just speak to the ownr direct.

Hope the authorities are aware about this situation of reformatting and re dividing the houses and villas and that they are a serious fire and safety hazard which could eventually lead to a major disaster with all this pinoy and mallu partitions and jigsaw puzzles going up in flames

exactly mnapin - its the mallus and the kabayan who seem to take and block everything and then turn the once nice and spacious houses and residential property into garbage dumps by dividing and redividing the property and then offering tiny rooms for outrageous rents

well its not the locals who are increasing the rents. The local lease out their apartments/villas to the agents in lump sum amount and the agents are to be blamed for rent increase.Qatar Govt. should issue a decree that the properties are to be directly rented out by owners as they have done in case of applying for familyvisa where you require direct contract with the owner of the rented apartment/villa ,Qatar Govt. dont consider sub-leting of property to issue a Family visit visa. I hope things will change soon in comming months.Inshallah........

The properties are owned by locals who are free to charge whatever they wish.

The government needs to lay down rent controlsm but I doubt that will happen.

Atleast if the house is good for that money, it can be fine.

House will be partitioned with cupboards.

Old window a/c with full of dust

Hope Qatari are giving the house for less rent, only the intermediate people are giving for huge rent with no maintenance.

That too for that house, some guys are asking for commision. Its really a money sucking business.

In some cases, if you vacate the house, they are not returning back the Advance also.

And paying the monthly rent in the very beginning itself.

i really have to agree to you here , as i m searching for one too these days and trust me i have seen worse....... I have just shifted to this new place in april and will be shifting again , as all the mainholes of the house are blocked and even we tried our own resources to make it better , it was useless :-/

in advertisments they will say its a flat or apratment and in reality it will be a part of ville with all those artificail partitioning , where you cannot even hang a wall painting....
