Now look where this happened of all places
A popular blogger and publisher has accused a TSA agent of criticizing his 15-year old daughter for having clothing the agent thought was too revealing.
On Sunday June 16, Mark Frauenfelder, co-founder of the Boing Boing blog, posted that a TSA agent at LAX had "shamed" his daughter, Sarina, for the outfit she wore that day while traveling.
Based on text messages he received from his daughter, Frauenfelder posted that "she was at the station where the TSA checks IDs. She said the officer was "glaring" at her and mumbling. She said, 'Excuse me?' and he said, 'You're only 15, COVER YOURSELF!' in a hostile tone. She said she was shaken up by his abusive manner.”
"It's the TSA's job to ensure the safety of passengers," Frauenfelder told NBC News. "It is not to judge teenage girls on the kind of clothes they’re wearing and make them feel shameful.”
Sarina says she would like an apology from the TSA. “If a guy was wearing that they wouldn't be in trouble,” she told NBC News. "I don't think men should treat women like that."
"We regret that this passenger had an unpleasant experience and are in the process of thoroughly reviewing the circumstances," TSA spokesman David Castelveter told NBC News.
"TSA officers are trained and expected to perform screening methods in a dignified and respectful manner at all times. We work to make our screening procedures as minimally invasive as possible while providing the highest level of security for the traveling public," said Castelveter.

anyway, I yhink it is an ISOLATED case.
I suppose the habits of the Taliban are now finally rubbing off on the americans and they want their folks to be more covered up then the guys and gals in afghanistan
The father on the other hand is an idiot for kicking up such a big fuss about this and for posting his 15 year old daughter’s picture online to get rally approvals
Well I think the TSA guy had a genuine concern for the young chick it seems that he was talking to her that way cuz he took her for a daughter and did not want anyone ogling at her in any a dirty way.
Come for a walk on the Corniche on Friday evenings or CC ice-skating ring and you will see more daring outfits than this.
Of course, due to circumstances and experience on is prone to go a little overboard and be, perhaps, overly sensitive towards such cases...;)
With this I mean that I am often overly upset hearing about people criticizing what women wear...especially if this happens in the West.
"This girl is dressed totally normal for being in the West" I say she is dressed pretty "normal" by most countries' standards! Seriously..I get a feeling the guy was prolly in a bad mood and looking for a punching bag!
No he doesn't NM. I'm sure he'll be reprimanded, if not fired.
Mimi, thing is he/she has no right in his job capacity to say these things. Therefore it is right for him/her to be reprimanded.
If this person did this in his/her private life, then fine. But it was in his capacity as an agent. So, no.
So one guy in a country of 345 million is a prude. Shocker.
I see a lot of girls/woman more revealing dressed in Qatar these days,..at least this girl still has knees and shoulders covered ;)
This girl is dressed totally normal for being in the West. I can't see which right this agent has to tell her otherwise.
maybe the TSA agent has no bad intent. It is how it was delivered. Of course it will be his words against the teen-ager.
For all we know this TSA agent may have been checking ids in afghanistan before and must be doing the same at his new posting
Thats the kid? .. Its revealing indeed shed fifteen... If shes already a lady dont care if she wear nothing...
he was trying to protect the subject from future dangers ...
No one should mind a suggestion from a father figure or the elders ...
I'd say there was a particularly strange /overzealous person at work that day...I am sure nobody was scared of that young lady.
Maybe the person at work was jealous ?
anything and everything seems to make this guys panic. .. earlier it was ladies in sarees which made them nervous.. then the name Khan made them jittery and now young girls make them scared too or was the TSA guy eyeing something else while on the job
There are strange people everywhere...unfortunately. At least something can be done about it.
TSA stands for Transportation Security Administration*
What is TSA?
