Plywood not allowed by Qatar Govt?
By red.averroes •
Is it true that Qatar Govt prohibits the use of ordinary plywood as material for room partitioning in a private resident villa? I asked this bcoz my landlord stopped me from putting a one & a half ordinary plywood in the new room I just rented.
Jade03 ur the man! they are one-dimensional thinkers. Only here in Qatar that I experienced my car was hit behind by a truck and when we went to the police they said that it was my fault. WTH!!? I told the captain "how come? he (Arabic driver) was the one who hit my car behind?" And the captain just responded to me "it's the law here in Doha".
Man is man and he does not realize he is given intelligence as well wisdom.
This all is because villas are made in Qatar when there are requirements of flats and studios. People end up making partitions to survive their stay to work in qatar. Then there are unjust stupid rules/formalities from municipality to sanction villas, which however will be demolished by these rich qataries or the government for expansion.
i was visiting a friends flat when cid came to arrest runaways in the adjacent flat. they came for the runaways but didnt bother about the divisions and room partitions.
Ok ok I got it.. Thanks for the infos.. Im just wondering curtains are also fire-friendly right.. I saw a lot of it in every house here.. The doors are not gypsum they are fire-friendly also bcoz doors are just ordinary woods as well. Anyways be safe always.
As the point of safety the ordinary plywood very friendly for fire so be safe and use fire safe materials for room partition.pl save yourself and the life of the others.
yes one can always complain about such partitions, recently we had a big raid in ur street and 15 families were thrown out from one 5 bedroom villa which was turned into 15 'pigeon holes'... in case of fire it can turn things really bad
Thanks for the info Typhoon, this means one can complain against the kabayans and mallus into these? This of course is a safety and health hazard.
Partitioning and dividing and subdividing of rooms and flats as done by our kabayan and the mallus is completely against the rules and a serious health and safety hazard and if found out by the authorities can lead to heavy penalties for the guys staying in this pigeon holes. This types of partitions are a serious fire risk to the guys who stay in them and to the others around them.
Never heard of anything like that however I think your landlord is against any modification in his property. You can test this by offering to use gypsum partition instead.
yes it is true, if you do it the baladiya can take action in case of inspection.I know a lot of people still do that but doesn't make it legal ..
