Hi.. I am here in Qatar since 5th Dec 2012, I am here on an employment visa..with a mutual understanding that I will be released and given an NOC once I find a job. I have now found a job and have been told that I cannot be transferred under a new sponsor until I complete 2 years with my existing sponsor. I was under the impression that it is One year before I could be transferred? IS it true that the rules have now been revised to 2 years? Kindly please help...

Also, is it anyway possible to transfer the sponsorship right away? I have completed 7 months in Qatar.

Transfer of visa can be made only after 1 year and no less than that. You can try to get IARA or secondment which is valid for up to 6 months and then you can have the complete sponsorship transfer by then.
