How much can I save?

Hi, I am a civil engineer with 3 years exp in India. I got a job with HBK contracting and they are offering 5000QR + accomodation(utilities paid) + transportation. I will have to bear my food expenses. I am a simple person with expenses cntrolled. How much will I be able to save?

it is mentioned medical insurance is provided free of cost by state of Qatar. Transportation is to and fro from work. Working 8hours for 6 days a week + OT (overtime will be paid as minimum 2 salary as annual bonus based on performance). 1 month basic salary paid annual leave but after completion of 1 year. Bachelor shared accomodation, furnished, with water & electricity to be paid by company. According to me my only expenses would be food, mobile phone and going out hardly 2-3 times and just for sight seeing or beaches. I just want to know how much will be spent on food if I cook my own?
Ask them about medical insurance and when you say transportation does that mean to and fro fro work or a private car that is at your disposal because it will hike up your costs of going out. I will advice you to check out other offers but they are giving the standard offer. I would say about 3500 to 4000 a month you'd probably be able to save. Best of luck.
P.s. don't forget to ask about off days, holidays, working over time and sick or death leave.

According to me my expenses would be food+phone+going out 1-2 times in a month.
If u are miser u can save 4500 per month
QR 5000 is not a big offer for an Engineer, still check for other perks and allowances in your contract which is more valid than verbal promises here. Food for a single person around 800 - 1000 is reasonable + your other expenses. Good luck.
