Maid accused of stealing remote control of Gate.

A housemaid has been accused of stealing a mobile phone and a gate’s remote control,

The suspect, L.A., was accused by her sponsor Y.A. of stealing the two devices after he cancelled her visa and found out that she had absconded.

L.A. was charged with stealing a Nokia phone worth Dh2,800 containing a SIM card and the remote control of the gate to his house worth Dh300.

L.A. denied the charges in court.

The sponsor, who is a lawyer, accused the housemaid of stealing a mobile phone that his seven-year-old son uses but leaves at home, and the gate’s remote control, which she always carried.

Yeah if she was Norwegian she would not have had to go through all this and be accused by her sponsor who happens to be a LAWYER. Looks like he had nothing else to blame the poor maid for so he blamed her for taking the remote control. The way poor, innocent and helpless people are set up and framed out there is giving that place a lot of very bad publicity

The case seems rather flimsy. I hope she is acquitted..

I bet she wishes she were Norwegian.

Naturally if you want to run away from a cage, you will need remote control of the prison's gate & a phone to ask help from outside world. This is not stealing, this is defending one's right to be alive and free.
