taking 47 inch tv to india

hi all,
yday my cousin took 47 inch tv to airport to travel with air india express to mumbai.to his suprise he wasnt allowed to take the tv along as the permitted is only 46 inch with air india express,however emirates was allowing 55 inch tv.
my quest is now how can i send the tv with safety and less cost to india?

This was previous rule as per new. All electronic items will have excise duty.
Indian custom charges 30% on your electronic good as per new policy that was out a week back. So unless you want to pay more on it, forget about it. The previous rule of taking goods upto Rs 30000 has been changed.
best way to take it wid us while going vacation ... other means like cargo expensive.....
