High School Dress Code

Hi, I'm a teenage girl who is about to move to Qatar (and attend Doha College) after living in England all my life and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a single query I have.

My new school has recently introduced skirts to their uniform and it says it must be tailored and knee length. I'm going to get mine in England and I would like to know if they are very strict on the whole 'knee length' thing?
If I were to attend with it at knee length and saw other girls with it a bit shorter I would be kind of self conscious, especially since I'll be the new girl.

I know it seems very lame and any answer of any length will help.

Chill out! The Doha College here is relaxed! It's not really so hard and fast! So an inch or two won't make a difference out here! Besides...they have good uniform tailors here in Doha as well....so even in case they ask you to strictly follow the dress code...you can still get a new skirt stitched here itself! :)
