Doha Traffic Jamz
It's the 2nd week for me in Doha and it's the worse traffic jam I ever seen in my life.
But the other side of the story or the positive side, I use it as a picnic I have all the supply from water and food and give extra houer or two to arrive to my destination and I enjoy the ride by doing all my emails from the iPad while I see some cars trying to fly left, right and center.
This the first time in my life toke me 2 hours to finish 5 Km distance!!! I am missing my motorcycle :(
thanks for the suggestion will try.. :)
take the route thru old wakrah petrol station (which is closed now)..there traffic is less..u save a lot of time there
@box no I cant I must have to clock in at 7:00AM other wise they will count me as late and just because of this I got 2400 QAR fine just to reach my office at 7:00Am :(
solution for people from wakrah till airport...leave the house at 9am..less traffic...and take extra hour at ur office...:)
@gordonhll: I go daily from wakrah to Airport it took 20mins if there is too much traffic other wise it tooks only 10 to 12 minutes and its also depends upon your vehicle average speed :p
Did you spot me?? I was in a white altema ;)
Yes I am on my iPad while I am behind the wheel BUT when the damn RED Light switched ON and OFF 10 times and I am stand still BTW sometime the police on my right side, I was thinking about good business to start selling snacks for the poor drivers who was catched in a surprised in the JAMZZZ, Looking for Partner!!!???
was galaxy S4 and that while traffic was completely still at place for 10-15 mins.
No phone while vehichle is moving.
Mandi...are you surprised? Look around you...how many people can you count that are on the mobile (which is illegal, but , obviously, nobody cares)by just casually glancing around while on the road? I counted 15 yesterday.
Are you really saying that you are on your iPad while behind the wheel???
Mandi
That's what I am talking about, it is positive that we have jamz, 1 hour or 2, there is plenty of TIMEZzzzz
shehbabi...
replied to few emails, updated my fb status, commented and liked many pic on fb, posted few photos of the jam at instagram, tweeted my furstration via twitter, relaxed for 10 mins pushing back my seat..
it was productive 1 hr and 10 mins in traffic jams.
Sorry I didn't read the newspaper, I should write the title as: The Traffic is very FAST as a pregnant Snail !!!
Traffic jams? What are you talking about.
The Gulf Times had a front page story quoting officials from the Traffic Department saying that there are no traffic jams.
Are you saying that the Gulf Times just prints crap?
A Big Thank You to the traffic police for looking after the smooth movement of traffic in and around Doha, yesterday I was scared of going to the Hospital from Al Khor during peak hour but due to good control it was a smooth ride and reached on time and way back without any delay, enroute saw almost 5 traffic cops at different locations manning the traffic standing in very hot sun, Thank you once again.
lol on picnic party :)
Dont Eat too much, you'll be under "pressure"....you'll end cleaning your car in late evening :):):)
I thought the execuse for not biking would be the burning sun or safosticating humidity......but rain that might happen for a maximum of 2 weeks.......what a good execuse.
However, I have to admit that, for me at least, it's mainly laziness rather than any illogical execuses.
Omais, I think the construction in the corniche has reduced the traffic jam as all the round abouts in the corniche are closed so there is no interruption from the opposite side through round abouts.
It was a smooth ride first month, took me 45 minutes straight from Garraffa to my work at Mesaieed but today it took me one and half hours, double the time just because the schools have opened up.. I guess tomorrow I will leave home at 6 instead of 6.30
try bkk. traffic in raining day. we have a lot of kids born in the car.
The road works are everywhere, bad planning, bad management.
Offices should start at 7.
Schools at 8.
i dont think it will relax we need to have a ban on female driving license that will reduce 30% of the traffic
The traffic is more worse offlate bcoz the construction going on in COrniche. Once its done then I believe there will be some relaxation.
The answer is simple.. Get a bicycle like me and Rizks..
traffic is getting worse everywhere, for me it took 1 hour usually it takes 15 mins :(
where did so many cars come from
It's not that bad ... it's a pleasure ride from Wakra to airport .. may take max 20 mins with all the traffic ... its only 10 KM ....
I didn't live up there, as I used this road in the afternoon only it was easy ride and it toke me around 25 Minute, I experience this jam on the C Ring road.
I will go to doha and stay for a while....for working.
Do you think how long will it take if I live in Wakrah and travel to airport every day?
