Moving to Doha: Medical cover

Dear QL'ers,
I am planning to settle in Doha for work in Nov/Dec '13. My employer is providing medical cover for self, spouse & kid (if any) under the group medical scheme. I would like to inquire whether my spouse on visit visa (before getting family visa status i.e 6 months) can able to avail medical facility under medical scheme provided by my employer or not. If not, then please advise how to get reasonable medical facility for my spouse. Thanks,
Appreciate your prompt response..

Hello meno,

thanks for your response- pls advise how much it costs for delivering baby (pregnancy)- how much doc charges for regular consultation & all related charges.. Is it advisable to bring spouse initially before getting family visa/Qatar id.

about residence if you don't have medical insurance yet you can make the government insurance Hamad Hospital&it's good,i was following up during pregnancy as it's not covered in medical insurance 1st year&they gave me everything vitamins, labor&follow up but appointments take long time till they give you an appointment except this they are great even i know an engineer who came here for visit visa to do a work and then go back home and during his visit he was very sick and they made an operation for him when he went to the emergency ...this is all i know but you won't be able to go to private Dr. alone it will coast you too much .
