amanda
Hi,
is Dr Sehati that you are refering to is from HMC?
Hamad is the best option. Now lemme tell u, the doctor there is very sweet, but the reception and nurses are horrible... n i hate them!!! But u need to b patient and look beyong all that, cos our ultimate aim is to get proper treatment and have a baby! And the treatment there is good. There are lots of success stories about IVF in Hamad right here on Q.Living.
Ahli is another option, but they havent started IVF as yet. They mite start in 2009.
And its better u dont go for any other clinics in doha...
Gud luck n dont worry... i am sailing in the same boat...
Sunshines to all!
You can not contact him over the phone 1st time. You have to initiate the procedures. Your wife have to here from the begining till the completion of the proedures.
Any contact no. of the said doctor plz ?
Yes. Only the head of the unit do the real surgery after going through lot of procedures (thats what I heard). His name is Dr. Sehati. He is a lean & tall man of Indian origin. Good Luck:)
Novita - What a co-incidence - The name of original posteris Andy Amanda and The Persons we know in real life are Andy & Amanda :)
Thanks Novita, I wanted to know abt any known doctors to whom approach to, as i presume it is a bit difficult to get an appointment as saw on this portal.
Nothing defenite Charan
Novi - I thought they are coming back again here. Andy wanted to work for Amanda's previous company.
just to let you know, andy and amanda went back to the UK now. Amanda delivered a baby girl call Olivia over a year ago.
Would u mind sharing ur no. plz, if required something to talk to. Mine email id is [email protected].
Hamad Medical Corporation. Go to Women's hospitol there and Get an appoinment to see a Gynee. Then start the proceeding from there
What is HMC ?? and How to get into the procedure there, u have any known out there plss.
HMC is very good for this. My friend this successfully in HMC went back to their country for delivery. total cost around QR 12,000.
Can any body guide me where the IVF facility is available in Doha-Qatar, also share their experiences and suggestions to choose one, plz also share cost idea, i am planning for IVF in July-2008. Thanks.
andyamanda,
Did you find more information about the cost etc of fertility treatment in Doha? I'll be moving in shortly and would like to know more info about cost etc.
Thanks
Thanks for the comment Butterfly. No offence was intended.
Phoenix (Amanda), my apologies but expats (I have been one since 1978) tend to try and bring a bit of humour into their frequently boring lives. Roll with it.
Hi Amanda,
In answer to your question, can I ask you if you'll be coming from the UK? My close friend has had IVF (not here in doha), and after a great deal of money spent and no success, they are now dealing with the pioneer of IVF in London. If you need the info, I can call her and ask the details.
It's a long process (IVF that is) and very expensive; but if all you need is a more simple approach, I am sure there a several clinics (i don't know any personally) that can help you. Let me know if I nee to grab those details for you.
In the meantime, good luck and relax. Sometimes all you need is a little less stress in your life to get pregnant. It took us 8 months, and finally happened for us, after we had taken a nice 1 month holiday. :)
I know a qatari couple who have had this done at Hamad Hospital. Apparently, expect to pay around $6000 for the procedure of harvesting, freezing and implantation. I think prescriptions (dont know for what) are extra.
Hope that helps.
Respect

Pls take no offence to Dweller comment... He always offers useful advice, a little faux pas can happen to anyone...Sure he didn't mean to offend.
Personally I always welcome a note of humour, otherwise this site gets really boring...
Acutally, chances are you will succeed when you get to Doha. Most women I know in Doha are either pregnant or just had a baby. Think they put something in the bottled water?
Or maybe is the fact that life here can be so boring that making babies becomes everyone's favourite pastime?
Good luck and Happy practising.
if your that sorry you wouldnt have written the reply.....prick
I had to laugh (not at the topic) but at the heading. I thought someone was asking for assistance in creating a family.............sorry
Doha Clinic offers IVF treatments. One of my friend is in her 4th month now after the treatments in Doha Clinic. It's a private hospital and the price is $$$$, there's a german Gyn comes every other month to guide the sector.
Hammad Hospital has a fertility clinic at the women's hospital which offers treatments; although I don't know the details of these it would be a good starting point.
I believe there is also a private fertility clinic near Ramada Hotel.
