Hello, everybody. My husband's been here for a few months and I just moved here. Does anyone have information about hiking trails or outdoor activities in Qatar? Any recommendations?

Thank you - forum is great. Have learned quite a bit so far!

I haven't arrived in Qatar yet but will definitely want to Hash when I get there. Do you happen to have a name or e-mail address of the a HHH representative?

Hello Practor ... ...next season i will let u know when we go to the desert again. We normally go in a group ... and sometimes we stayed over night by the sea for camping.

Take care.

Practor - Can you please let me now what you find out? I am moving to Doha at the end of the month and would be very interested in the same types of activities. Thanks

Thank u so very much. Marhaba it is! Can't wait to get "acclimated" to Doha, sounds like it could be lots of fun.

Go to hash house harriers. It is a running club but mostly social and you run very much at your own pace(some hike). Different venue every week. Number is in marhaba i think

The season's over, I'm afraid, but for the autumn, join the Qatar Natural History Group (membership details in 'Marhaba' magazine) 'cos they do field trips and rambles when it's not too hot. There's also a sailing club and a diving club. details again in marhaba. To explore on your own, just head to any coast, except around Doha. Try the Singing Dunes (Marhaba again) and the West coast.
