School waiting lists
By checkingin •
Hi there, I am considering a post in Doha however some prechecking has revealed alarming waiting lists for junior classes
in the usual UK expat schools. Has anybody else any experience of this and what if anything can be done.
Tks
Qatar International School (QIS) costs a beginning cost of 15,000QR a year, and it gets even higher as the child gets into high school. Same with the American School, Doha English Speaking School, Gulf English, etc.
As far as waiting lists go, ONLY QATARIS are given priority, everybody else MUST take their place in line.
We're leaving Qatar, and one reason is the poor choices of schooling here for our English speaking kids. The problem here is that the majority of the kids in the schools are speaking English as their SECOND language; so our native speaking kids get bored pretty easily.
it is wrong Dweller ... QP staffs also have to go on the waiting list. No priority.
Checking in.
If you are with an employer that supports the schools or that has influence (such as QP). You may not have to go on the waiting list.
