wild wadi is a definite must-see..it's just next to the jumeirah beach hotel. there's also wonder land amusement park on bur dubai..i think you pay around 60 DHS (not sure though) for unlimited access to all rides in the park. There's also encouter zone..i think that's around wafi city area. You can also check out magic planet in deira city center..doesn't offer much for adults but the kids would probably enjoy it. Then again there's the notorious ski slope in the mall of the emirates..fun for the whole family at a reasonable price.
Oh and in sharjah you can check out the last floor on both mega mall and sahara mall. last time i checked they had at least a handful of things to keep the kids busy.

Sharjah has built a new Qanat Al Qasba...its like the london birds eye..with a good view of the emirates of Dubai and Sharjah...in Air-conditioned shuttles....
