it was qr1000 for me and it is only a deposit in any case so you get it back

Are you certain that is is only 1000QR for the license? We are finally getting around to getting one but I was told that it was much higher than that....Hoping you are right :)

don't forget that you have to have a minimum basic salary of 4000 QR per month in order to obtain an alcohol license

the letter from your employer also MUST state your basic salary along with all your other earnings (allowances and such)

anyway its fairly easy for anyone getting this permit these days

Yes it's true you do need a licence. You need a residents permit and a letter from your company saying they are happy with it.

You take these to the only booze shop in town and they will give you an id.

You need to place QR1000 deposit as well

i think theres a guilt factor reduction in meat products. At least the animal led a fruitful life freely grazing on organic grass or organic corn before it was whisked away to be organically electrocuted or have its head organically smashed in :P

Actually, speaking of beer (its organic!!.. sort of), what's this I hear about needing to procure a licence to be able to buy one's own alcohol to take home?! Is this true? How does one get such a licence and who WON'T get one after applying??

C'mon Manyoo - sign Hargreaves!!

This is a desert country, and I would think you would need good soil or a very expensive green house to grow organic food.

I believe Qatar has green houses on the way to Dukhan.

This is just my comment " eat whatever healthy food you can get in the Supermarkets or groceries" it also depends what you can afford.

Have a good weekend. :)

if anyone is not aware, today is a thursday and some of us have a half day before the weekend (Friday).

Well, I guess that's your opinion. But you know, to some people, it's NOT a "fashion trend" (i don't even know how it got associated with fashion). To some, it's a lifestyle, a choice a person makes to live healthy. If you knew how much chemicals a "normal" person ingests when he eats processed food, meats injected with steroids to bulk up, and fruits and vegetables smeared with fertilizers, you'd understand why there is a sudden clamor for more organic food.

And just as I've read so many times in this site, it's always a matter of respecting another person's ideals.

Doctora, if you are able to find any organic food around Doha, please let me know.

Nothing doing, yet.

I think there are a couple of diet stores springing up so maybe organic won't be far behind.
