Hi,

I am looking for a nice Arabic style cafe (Nice if shisha us available :)). It will be great if I can play backgamon also! I am looking for a place where I can go with my family.

I tried the following cafe's:

Grand Cafe (near Ramada) and it was excellent place; also I tried a small nice cafe called carnival (near Toyota show room)and you can play cards there!

Feel free to contact me if you want to get more info about those.

Thanks!

I have been to the Red Palace, as they call it, Ras Amassa on the Corniche near the Doha Club. It looks kind of touristy from the outside, but after a few hours it is full of Qataris. There were several families there too. There are different rooms to sit in, both inside and out, and a family section. The snacks are good and I had good service especially when I was with a Qatari. The sheesha was nice and they frequently replaced the charcoal.

Go to Bandar. On the Corniche. Opposite to HSBC bank main branch. It has a maroon signboard.

asoussa I don't want to seem uptight but when you say family do you mean kids too?

I hope not. My kids and smoke? No way.

I smoke, by the way, but nowhere near them.
