Qatar Internships?

Not sure if Qatar is the best place to be in during the summer, but neither is Siberia since Oil seems to pop out in odd places.

My question is: I am looking for a summer internship at QP, RasGas, or Qatar Gas for the summer and curious how to go about that since no one seems to advertise it, although I read that such programs exist.

I am an MS petroleum engineering student from Texas.

Cheers!

Could a canadian-born/ arab origin student such as myself do internship in qatar during the summer break? I am currently in BS chemical engineering. What are the chances?.. any opinion would be great!

is it only open for MS students?

I am a BS Petroleum Engineering student from the Philippines and I also intend to have my intern/On-the-Job Training in one of the oil and gas companies in Qatar.

I have studied in Philippine School Doha, and most of my relatives are there. I visit Doha at least once every two years, and this thread has enlightened my intention of having my intern in any gas companies there in Qatar.

Would they entertain an undergraduate student to have their OJT there?

thank you. :)

Since you are from Texas I recommend that you contact Texas AMU since they have a local campus here at Education City. I'm sure they will be able to help you out...

Internships/summer placements are considered development programmes that are usually only open to Qatari students/graduates.

The only possible way into the Qatar Oil and Gas industry is through one of the US companies having stakes here.

Try ExxonMobil, Occidental and Conoco Philips, also Shell and Total. They do offer internships but whether they are prepared to send you here is another issue. Theres no harm in trying though.
