Personal Goods Clearance Charges
Hi,
I am currently in the process of clearing my 2.5 cu metres of goods by sea cargo and have been told of different charges.
They are:
(1) Destination Consol Operator Charges
(2) Our Delivery Order Fees
(3) ALL-IN Clearance & Delivery charges
(4) Qatar Customs Charges (which I was told they should get an exemption for.
To me, it all looks abit exorbitant considering the small amount of goods shipped. Has anyone else paid any such charges.
Moreover, If such charges are so, I was never informed of this (I was only told of (3) & (4))
Moreover, was told should take 6 weeks and is now going on 11 weeks. And finally, before I gave my boxes to the shipper, I measured each one and they added to 1.6 cubic and suddenly it became 2.5, which I accepted as I could not bare to argue.
However now, I am somewhat fed up and wondering whether I can take any recourse with the original shipper?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.
in costum process all kind of goods will have the same treatment (According to the term of deliveri), the different is the cost in each country.
The only cost which can be paid at the loading port is THC (terminal handling charge), and this will be mentioned in the bill of lading as THC prepaid.
Shipping lines usually applied the minimum charges, mean that you will have to pay the minimum cost if your cargo has less cost than their min. standard.
There is no reason for them to slow down the costum process. You can argue with them if there are some extra storage cost at port of destination.
Yes, you will be charged for those items.
