some things I can't find anywhere in Qatar

hello all,

There are a few things I have been searching for all year and just can't find anywhere in Qatar. The first are reeses pieces-they seem to have Kit Kat just about everywhere though.
Also, ruffles chips do we even have imitation brands...those will do too.

Now on to baking items, I can't find butterscotch chips, flavoured pudding mix (like strawberry etc)or Rice Krispies = just the plain cereal.

And other cooking items: whole wheat pasta, brown rice, and parboiled rice, normal north american butter (or at least something that tastes like it).

Oh and a restaurant that sells western style-chinese food...okay that may sound completely odd to some but the rest of you guys from Canada and the U.S. definately know what I am talking about.

I have checked out the Q-marts and MegaMarts here, but is there somewhere else where I could try my luck?

I think Megamart is your best bet ESL - the seem to have a lot of stuff other superkarkets don't keep.

Falafel, shawarma and houmous are Arabic CUISINE, Fish. Therefore they're not junk and I can eat them in liberal quantities, guilt free.

everybody eats junk in Doha, ESL

where else in the world would you find people having falafel, shawarma, and hommus for breakfast?!

guilty pleasures are the best.

sure I found pudding mix, but it's just plain, I am looking for the flavoured stuff, like strawberry pudding, chocolate etc. I was just in FFC the other day and didn't see the cereal, I shall check again. I have also looked in Carrefour. wow chips are 27QAR!

although e46M3 is right, I'll probably end up splurging on them one of these days

such a shame--> no good chinese restaurants, I am guessing reading mypost it looks like I am the least healthy of ppl. who eats junk all the time, but I'm not that bad really I just want it for once in a while, really..;)

Moon palace doesn't have Chinese food. Sadly there is no good Chinese restaurant in Doha.

Megamart sells ruffles why you would want to spend 27 riyals on a bag of crisps though I'm not sure.

i'm pretty sure i saw ruffles chips at giant stores (Hyat Plaza) and Megamart (The Centre). Same goes for pudding mix.

rice krispies are practically sold EVERYWHERE. I'm a little surprised you haven't found that. try carrefour if you're out of luck with the other hypermarts.

I'm not sure what western-style chinese food is..but moon palace seems to be popular with just about everyone.
