A co-worker recently told me that wallets are vanishing in the mowasalat buses! Looks like a new means to earn for some in Qatar....pick pockets!!! Sad though...since most who travel by these public buses are labors and those who can't afford taxis and cars...
OMG.. that reminds me of wht happend to me in London as well.. I hope no one of this forum face such a situation , especially loosing IDs , Driving lisence .. etc etc. any way I guess you all know it but just as a quick reminder, if you have to ride the bus , keep ur wallets in ur front pocket . if u are wearing a skirt .. well I have no sugesstion
You're right, pick-pocketing seems to be a very lucrative crime. This reminds me of a story which happened in Munich during Oktoberfest last year. Apparently a 24 year old English bloke was nabbed for stealing a handbag. In addition to the woman's bag, the police found approx. €19,000 on the thief. Now that's a hard day's work!
The moral of the story is: if you are going to pick a pocket, pick a pick-pockets pocket.
