if you want to have flying lessons contact QAC....Qatar Aeronautical College. ring 440-8888 ask to speak to someone from PTD....Pilot Training Department.
Then enquire about PPL.......Private Pilots Licence
Sorry about all the abbreviations, thats one of the things about aviation lots of things to learn and hopefully remember lol
Once you have obtained a qatar PPL, you can purchase an aircraft from overseas and import it into the country and base it at Al khor........but first get your licence.
QAC also provide training for future pilots with Qatar Airways....enquire at the college
Check out The Qatar Aeronautical College website http://www.qac.edu.qa/ , looks like you have to join like a regular college for flight training. I did not go through the site just glanced it so don't know...looks like a good site and informative ...
Private flying lessons can be booked, we had a recent fund raising event and were donated a flying lesson to auction.
I am trying to track down the contact number but for now you can go to the Aeronautical College, Ras Abu Aboud (Nr Marriott Hotel). Telephone number should be available through Q-Tel.
The office is located on the college site, just ask at reception and they will point you in the right direction.
i think it was previously stated on this site that, qatar being such a small country, it is a no fly zone, because of the military air-base. Other members can comment also, but, alternatively try to use the search button for this topic.
