My husband has been asked to move to Doha with his current employer, but I am not sure if this is the right move for the family, I have a boy who is 6 and uprooting him seems like a big thing I have so many questions I am hoping that somebody can help
1) What major companies employ "expatriates" ?
2) What schools are available ?
3) What is the cost of living in comparision to the USA ?
4) My sons after school outings ?
These are just a few, if you can help me I would appreciate it, if you can tell me of schools and worlplaces that would give me an idea.
Thank you so much in advance

1) What major companies employ "expatriates" ? Several from Education, Oil & Gas, Construction, Health Care etc.
2) What schools are available ? American, British, Indian and Arab
3) What is the cost of living in comparision to the USA ? 1 US dollar=3.64Qatar Riyals 9(QR) which is a fixed rate. The cost of living depends on what you buy. If you only buy certain American brands, then it will be very expensive (example 1 can for Pam non stick spray will cost $7.14) but if you don't then you can save.
4) My sons after school outings ? Sports, pinics, parks, "theme" parks etc

The answers to your questions are : all; a number of good Western ones; similar; a few, but it's a small place.
If you browse in the archives, you'll find a lot of detailed answers to specific queries. And you might want to note that there are a lot of young American and Canadian families here who seem quite happy.
