Excellent Holiday at Sealine Resort
I have recently come back from a very enjoyable holiday in Qatar. It is 40 years since I was last in the country and was (mostly) impressed with the whole place. The driving left a lot to be desired, especially the inability of local drivers to understand the concept of roundabouts in Doha. I drove us all around in a Chevy Trailblazer from Oasis Cars and handed it back 8 days later a bit dusty but without a scratch!
The Sealine Beach Resort, south of Umm Said, was excellent (we stayed in a 3 bedroom villa, self catering) and most weekdays had the family swimming pools to ourselves. It got a bit crowded on Thursday/Friday/Saturday but was still significantly better than most resort complexes I have been to in other countries. The staff were helpful and friendly and other than the shore line (which was covered in litter, either washed up or dropped by other visitors) it was clean and well maintained.
All the people we met either shopping or eating out were friendly, although the other members of my party (all female) were distressed by the stares they got when walking around the shopping streets, especially the Souq area. I have seen other correspondance on this forum about this problem and can understand the anger felt by some.
We have all stated our intention to return, next time for longer, 8 days was not long enough to visit all the places we wanted to see.
The only thing that I found difficult to deal with was the way the sun goes down at 5:30pm, cutting short the sight-seeing.

You can find some more info on the resort on the QNHC website: http://www.qnhc.com/sealine.html
Unfortunately, they don't mention the room rates there, but the site does give the telephone number for the resport so you could give them a call.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much money a privet villa cost in sealine? Let’s say a one bedroom villa for example
