A simple question for those who have nannies/maids

I looked at a few appartments and I found that they don't have a nanny or maid's room. So simple question to those living in apartments with live-in nannies or maids, where do they sleep?

thats becos nannies were a privilige of the rich who live in villas and house more than 3 landcruisers.

but now they have become the norm of the day.

u cant get an extra room, you have to make do with what you have. if the living room can be locked and is not in the way of general movement, then she can sleep there. if you have a seperate dining room thats lockable, she can use that place too, as long as you are providing her with a bed, it can be a makeshift bed that can be left as a sitout during the day, dosnt need to be used the entire day.she can take her afternoon siesta in the kids room.

Getting an extra room will cost a lot more than the already very high rent price in doha today. Maybe in one of the child's room since she's mainly here for them. Or maybe if I find an appartment with a nany's room or TV room (apart from the living room). I was just surprised that they don't think of nanny's room in a country where nannies are so present.

as long as you can provide her with clean bedding in a room that ensures privacy while she sleeps and good ventilation (AC in summer), its fine whichever room you choose.she must have place to keep her personal belongings, maybe kids room or the extra bedroom.i know of maids who sleep on the floor on a mattress in the kids room, some use the hall that can be locked at night. ensure she has the privacy that she requires for the night.she just needs a clean place to sleep.

remember maids are not fussy people, they come here for work (unless you have specific people you are getting along with you then you deal with their tantrums).the maids need decent place to live, clean place to sleep, some privacy and rest time, food to eat and most important, compassion by the empployers that they understand that maids are humans too.if everybody understand this and treat the help with kindness and respect, it wont matter where they wish to sleep, they will be happy with what you give because they trust you.

They can sleep in with the kids if you don't have a spare room. I know of one who slept under the stairs in a villa.

they can sleep in the middle between u and your spouse. actually this is not a bad idea, i case you need something at night, a simple tap on the shoulder, and voila, the glass of water is in your hands.
