Hi

The package they offered to you was very very low considering the experience, US degree and last but not least Canadian passport as well.

I would suggest you not to take this offer until andotherwise you are offered between 40-50QR per month inclusive of all your allowances+air tickets per annum+school+medical etc

Think about it.

Cheers

Its not worth it at all. You should be getting at least 30K QR inclusive minimum. It would be better to negotiate with them from Canada as they would pay more than if you are somewhere in the middle east.

Thanks for all your feedbacks.

Actually this company is in the growing/development stage of their business. They have started this new division couple of years ago, that's why they are paying comparatively lower than others, I believe. Anyway thanks for your advice again. I would certainly try to negotiate more.

My dancing partner Spiderman is right that's actually Asian offers! you should at least earn 150,000 U.S. dollars package per annum or more to start with.

Aviduser! let's move to "cube managers arrive" page so they all start dancing there.

Just keep dancing, it will do you good!

That is really low for a Canadian Citizen. I would strongly advise against taking that.

The minimum now in Qatar is at least 12-14K a month for housing

And at least 15-25K wages.

The package you have been offered is derisory at best. It is no secret now that Qatar is expensive with rents astronomical.

The other benefits as described by my dancing friend above are all pretty standard.

Inflation is running at 8% here so an agreement on pay increases every year should be agreed.

To be honest the package you have described sounds more like the type of package offered to people from the subcontinent, or Philippines's where wages are lower to start with.

My advice to anyone coming from a first world country is this:

Minimum overall package 40-50,000 qatari ryals plus flights and schooling otherwise it just is not worth subjecting yourself to the hassle of moving here.

Hope that helps

This package is very low. Ask for double at least.

But, it seems a bit low wages for a manager with 9 years experience in Middle East and Canadian Citizen!

They should provide you a 3 bedrooms fully furnished accommodation from the beginning!

All the other benefits are normal like return ticket for the family every year, medical, school allowances up to 80,000 a year and more if you're lucky!

Just keep dancing, it will do you good!

Before you consider the package, just confirm you can get school places for your children. This is quite an issue in Doha at the moment. Also, you didn't mention if you package includes the cost of schooling. This can be expensive too.

Your housing allowance seems very light. At the moment you need to pay between 12-15 even 20k for a 4 bedroom place. Doha in the last few years has gone through the roof for rent prices. This doesn't look like easing off either.

In my opinion, you would need to get a decent commission for this package to be attractive.
