I would like to know whether there you get Self raising Flour in this country?
I have been to quite a few supermarkets, but havent come across it, however I have seen all purpose flour, Flour No1 and Flour No 2.....Whats the difference?
Flour no. 1 is also called all-purpose flour; suitable for breads, pastries, low-sugar cakes and gravies, ie general home use.
Flour no. 2; sold mainly to bakers, has too much protein (gluten) for home use (difficult to mix and mold by hand), very good for pizza and flat bread applications.
I have seen self raising flour around is to mix 1 teaspoon of baking powder with 1 cup (250ml) of flour. There's no magic in self raising flour- that's all it is. It's actaully better to mix it when required because if the self-raising has been on the shelf too long the baking pwder could have lost its activity.

Mega Mart hasn't had it for awhile. They were waiting on a shipment last I heard. It is easy to make though like pearl said.
