annual travel insurance

Hi,
we are looking for annual travel insurance - we are British, but resident in Doha. I've looked online , but most companies want you to be resident in their country. Locally, an annual policy seems very expensive.....
grateful for any help,
Fi

Travel Insurance is an essential part of any trip and is something that should not be put aside. Most soon-to-be travelers usually have heard about travel insurance, but might not know the specific reasons why they need travel insurance. This is an important article about frequently asked questions for travel insurance.

During travel, travelers face lot of risks like, trip cancellation, loss of baggage, loss of money or valuables, accidents, terrorist attacks, natural calamities and occasionally death. One cannot put a stop to travel because of the risks involved

I got to their website but didn't get the 10% discount.

Then I found out that the trick is to put this code in their promo code field (1st step of the booking engine):

PROMF

... then you still get the 10% off!

Thanks for the great tip Mike, I bought an annual policy with very decent cover and it only cost me US$87!

I had the same thing once.. Their policies are now sold as underwritten by the local underwriter, so it's an administrative matter I suppose.

But they are still the same policies with the same claims handlers and emergency assistance companies.

I renewed my annual policy for about 88 USD.. (with 10% discount), amazing.. only about 7,50 USD per month for a year's worth for cover.

I don't think any copany in Qatar can beat this annual travel insurance deal, honestly.

Just had a bit of a faff with Columbus Direct Insurance.

I wanted to renew (been with them 2 years) and was told I had to apply again from scratch.

The reason is that from now on it is no longer underwritten by Lloyds, but by Qatar Insurance Company!

Hi,

I also just discovered Columbus Insurance. Looked all a bit too good to be true at first, but I rung them and checked everything out and they simply sell their insurance in qatar at UK prices with UK cover..

I searched a bit and found this old link from an affiliate network that gives you 10% discount:

http://www.columbusdirect.com/qatar/Travel-Insurance/Single-Trip-Travel-Insurance.cfm?Sourcecode=PROMF

I seems to work and I took the annual one for myself and my wife.

Mike.

I take it back about JS. Just called to renew for this year and not only was told that I can't but also that the person who sold us last year's policy was mistaken and if I had had to claim would have been invalid! Now following above advice...

Hi, I use JS Insurance every summer. They insure me from the time I land in the UK to the time I land back in Doha. It also covers my ipod, phone, vuitton bag, sunglasses etcd, all the things likely to get nicked while I am there. They charge £50 a month including medical but they won't cover for the Qatar side of the journey. It is a specialist policy for UK people who are non resident.

Hi, I'd recommend you get a Columbus Direct travel insurance policy, as they now also sell to Qatar residents, online or over the phone.

It's all serviced in English, very affordable / cheap and proper travel insurance!

I have an annual policy for years now and very happy.

Qatar - I'll never leave!!
