Release from sponsor

Need some assistance / advise - my husband is desperately wanting to get a release from his sponsor but unfortunately he keeps getting turned down by his Administration Manager who is his only direct contact to discuss such issues.

Is there any way at all my husband can get a release - he is locally recruited.

Would really appreciate your comments / feedback

This has been a never ending question on QL. The below article has been taken from todays Gulf Times. Legal issues section.

Sponsorship transfer

Q: I was hired by my current employer locally nine months ago. I would now like to move to a new company that has offered me a better package. Can I get a no-objection from my current employer? What does the Qatar Labour Law say on this matter?

AB, Doha

A: As answered at various occasions, as per current rules and regulations, sponsorship transfer is solely at the discretion of the current sponsor. There is no claim even in cases where transfer effected locally.

----------------------------

Most of us are stuck because of the NOC. However, what I hear that if you have a problem with the sponsor, and you have proof, you can approach the Labor Department and Human Rights committee.

If it works??? I do not know.

God be with you.
