...from Qatar, being a casual blogger myself and I found Aisha's blog, about a year or so ago, and obviously through that, the QL Forum. I don't know why I finally registered on here a couple of weeks ago. This is my first comment on here, and more than likely my last, as I have no connection at all to Qatar. :) But I really enjoy reading the discussions on here. Thanks for allowing me to be a spectator on an awesome forum. :)

I was Googling (haha, a new word) for Music Instrument shops in Doha Qatar when I saw this. I thought it was quite cool and was pleased to see a lot of expatriates here so I joined. It was an international community and I love being part of a community like this. So this site is really cool and useful. :D

I was looking for another way to sell the HP computers that we got in the company so one of the friends asked me to post it here. It does not work good thought, but it gives me the chance to meet such nice people here.

I thought that it is only a website for making auctions, selling and buying stuff, but it was more than that, more than what I was expected. I don't know how to thank that friend for giving the chance to be here between all you guys.

I was really happy to find you here and I hope that you also feel the same about me.

I was checking some websites about Qatar about where you could go fishing, sailing and places where you can spend your weekends and free time as I was so BORED then.

Saw the QL, checked it out, saw the posts and exchanges between the members. Enjoyed it, joined in and started posting some comments of my own till now. ;-)

Feb 2006, found the site and asked questions. After a few replies I thought there seemed to be some nice people in Qatar so I made the move.

Obviously the tax free money and package made up my final mind, but thank you to anyone who replied to me in those early days.

I was helping out our Turkish expat to look for a nanny.

I got replies.

Then I posted 1 sharing room available- i got replies.

Then I inquired if you guys were selling a split type acu - no reply

Then I posted a forum regarding marriage- got helpful advices

Then I posted a forum about NEC DVD drive- got tips!

Then I found out that each post leads to points, leading to a free dinner (?)

Then I found out that there are warm & friendly people here..and I "danced",

I found QL whilst surfing and have been very pleased with it. i find that i'm now a useful source of info for friends who are new to qatar, as i get to find out all sorts of things whilst reading the forums. i'm a little disappointed there's no search function though. is it possible to add one next time the site is upgraded?

My first time was when I was 19... had to rent a shack by a beach outside the suburbs of Mumbai ;) Those were fun days. LOL.

Didn't bother read the entire thing by Owen, my answer is purely based on the title of the thread.

My husband found it and said you wanna keep yourself busy?? I thought he will let me work, no! and he showed me this site, then I start fiddling and now I can't spend my day without it! the minute I got up, there is the computer infront of me waving and in my imagination, I think it's talking to me! saying "good morning Jane do you want to chat with your friends?" then I'll say to myself alright then, I don't even notice I've been infront of the computer for hours!!! Damn! I'm an addict!!!

Just keep dancing, it will do you good!!!
