Overpriced Doha
Spent almost a couple of hours this morning looking (and in traffic) for a bluetooth keyboard and mouse set. None to be had.
Saw a Lacie d3 Blu-Ray burner at Jarir for QR 7019.
Checked the Lacie website, price US$ 1049.99 = QR 3832.5.
Did a product search online and the least expensive was about $919, most expensive almost $1500.
You can order whatever you want online as long as it's not pornography related. Some couriers have banned items such as perfume.
I've never ordered a book or DVD and had it stopped. I find having my items delivered via courier is quicker and less troublesome than via Qatar Post.
Yes...your credit balance...
Am upgrading laptop memory, price her is twice US, I just have it shipped to my Aramex address in US for free and to here for QR30. Get it in about 8 days.
Are there any restrictions on what you can order on-line?
i try to travel via dubai and shop there.
I never bother buying PC accessories and peripherals in Doha anymore. Limited choice, outrageous prices and poor support.
Even my last 2 PCs came straight from the US.
I was just outraged at the mark-up.
Rock the Casbah, I'm in the market for a Nikon D80 and Salam is the agent both here and in Dubai. Same price so it's coming from Amazon.
If i remember it right, SAHIL said i one of his posts that he could be of help with regards to computer accessories. King Edsel too, I think.
Yeah electronics are quite pricey in Doha. Maybe try Virgin or check out ads in malls, or the local paper.
I get my electronics in Dubai, as it's so much cheaper than here.
If you're looking for any R/C toys, order online. Prices here are at least twice as high. The same goes for a lot of stuff. Before I buy anything expensive here, I've learned to check the prices online.
I have been looking for a Canon 400D. Its almost twice the price here than the states.
