go to Korean Garden in Ramada Signal for japanese food. For chinese try chinese beijing restaurant cross of Ramada Hotel/The Center. Or try chinese restaurant in Villagio. Its same raw with Mango. Can't remember the name. Only at the front there is some seat and lift to go upstairs. The restaurant is on second floor. They pretty good.

Also, the new Movenpik across from the Four Seasons has a new oriental restaurant, but it's received mixed reviews.

If you're coming from Al Sadd road on C-Ring, take the service road entrance after the Toys R Us. Follow till it veers right. You're now on Al Mugrab St. Go about 300 meters and it will be on your left. It has a gate and is illuminated with some little lights. There's a fountain in the outdoor seating area.

You walk left...you're in for a massage. Go right and you're in for some good food!

I highly recommend the whole fish and Tom Yum. Also, ask for the garlic beef and Som Tum (papaya salad)....very authentic.

Chopsticks at Grand Regency serves good Chinese food. I wouldn't recommend anything else. I think there's one at Oasis Hotel but I haven't been there in years.

Those already commented about Asia Live (very expensive and OK...but just "OK") and Moon Palace (again, it's a almost suitable substitute, but just "OK".

Chinese food around here is even more difficult. There's a place across The Centre, which I found to be rather mediocre.

Quite simply, the BEST place I've found is the rather unfortunately named "Thai Snack and Massage" on Al Murgab (sp?) St. It quite simply is excellent food prepared by people from Thailand.

All Thais I've met in the area give it "two thumbs up." I concur.

Moon Palace, Al Murgab Street, serves both Japanese and Korean. There's also Sakura at Ramada.

I, for one, do not want to eat in any restaurants where women are assaulted.

Wrong thread waelelmeligi, women being assaulted doesn't really have much to do with Japenese good.

As for Japenese food however, check out Neo's on Salwa or Asia Live at the Marriot. It's the best I've found here.
