I have seen the nice advertisement of the Al Sultan Beach Resort on QL, and thought it is a good idea to spend a weekend there with my family and some friends so i called the hotel to enquire, and had this discussion:
Myself: I need to check you rates for a double room during this weekend
Hotel: Rooms are not available sir, we can book you in a suite at 2400 QR per night.
M: what about the next weekend, you might have availability
H: No sir, all rooms are booked by our corporate clients, we have only suites.
M: So what if come to spend a day around the pool and on the beach. what is your entry fees.
H: Sorry sir only residents or members can use the pool and the beach facility.
M: What if i book a friday brunch, or your diner can i still come to spend the day on the pool.
H: No sir, you can use only the restaurant.
M: Thank you, that was very helpful
H: you are welcome sir. Good bye

I must say that the staff i spoke to was very polite, however i do not undersatnd whay the management advertise their hotel going through a marketing .... and then when someone calls to go and "enjoy a relaxing day" (as the press release mentions) all what you get is NO, NO, NO and NO...

Anybody wants to share an idea about that...

I have to say that on behalf of the Management here at The Al Sultan Beach Resort that we are disaapointed with the comments made, as for the gentleman who had the experience Magdy Khella are General Manager has emailed him and he is quite satisfied with the outcome.

Let me try and explain - We at the resort have promotions running all the time and one of the most popular is "Swim and Dine" no booking needed you turn up pay 200 QR per adult and 150 QR per child over five and come in and swim all day have a buffet lunch which is provided in the price (the only thing not included is your beverages), you swim and eat, spend the day here and then go home.

If you want to come for the Weekend - Thursday till Saturday the cost involved is 960 QR per night, this price includes Breakfast in a standard room here at the resort and use of all the facilities.

The BBQ is 100 QR takes place every Thursday (weather permitting) there is no need to book, although if a party of ten is coming or upwards of ten for pagenation purposes just give us a quick call to let us know you are coming as a party of ten or whatever the number is.

Membership to the Health and Sports Club, which includes us of the swimming pool, fitness room, beach and in the future our water sports, tennis and a health and beauty salon, we expect these to be completed sometime in the future.

Cost - Single membership for three months - 1800 QR six months - 3,300 QR amd one year - 6,000 QR

Cost - Family membership for three months - 3,500 QR, six months - 6,300 QR and for one year's membership - 10,500 QR.

All we need is a Copy of your ID, fill in the application form, confirm you have read all the terms and conditions and provide two personal photos and that's it - you are a member.

We truly look forward to seeing you here at the resort in the very near future, remember also you can make a reservation directly by going to our website as below, where you can also take the virtual tour.

Only in Qatar do people spend money on advertising when they can't even deliver on what they are advertising, lol.
