Today QCPI held a sermon at their mosque spoken in english.
It was a very interesting that you can understand what muslims are talking about in their khutba.
the place was full of people of multiple nations
I asked some people about khutba and I found them interested and gained better knowledge.
I would like to thank QCPI group for their effort to help people to understand ISLAM in other languages.

Were trying to set up a MEA group on Qatar living to promote such events like a English Khutba, and for muslims and non muslims to learn more about Islam, even if they cant speak Arabic.

A few brothers have been helping me, however we need a lot more help and we also want to start some sort of sisters study circle, where they can meet people.

Anyhow, for those on Facebook there is group set up Muslims Expats Association of Qatar.

Also Dr.Bilal has started an Islamic Studies Academy that offers an accredited BA degree in Islamic Studies in the English language. You can take courses here and there and not necessarily need to pursue the degree.

Arabic language is also being taught. Visit http://www.islaamicstudiesacademy.com/profile.htm for more info.

Just so I'm clear, is the khutbah given by Dr. Bilal Phillips at the Fanar building the same one that is being hosted by QCPI?

@mufy

I believe starfish is referring to a different group that gives their khutbah in English. But I could be wrong.

@starfish

I am somewhat new to Doha. I was wondering: What is the location of QCPI? At what time do they start their khutbah? And is there also space for women in this?

Makes me realise I really ought to get out more! Or at least watch out for events such as the one you mention. Not sure I would have known where to look, though
