Which car is easiest to re-sell?
Hi again fellow QLers,
I am about to buy a car, but since my stay in Qatar could possibly not extend beyond 1 year, I was wondering which car would be the easiest to re-sell a year from now.
Here are the options I was contemplating. The range goes from super-saver up to total show-off (all are 2007, with no down-payment option)
1) Mazda 3: ticket price 67,000, or QAR 1,200 x 60.
2) Toyota Camry v6 (Aurion): ticket price 98,000, or QAR 2,000 x 60.
3) Humer H3: ticket price 155,000, or QAR 2,900 x 72.
My thoughts are that the Toyota is probably the easiest to re-sell. But an upgrade from Camry to H3 is affordable to me. However, if the Mazda 3 has a secondary-market appeal, I'd rather save some $$$ and go for it.
So which one should I go for? Mazda3 or H3?
Your thoughts are highly appreciated! Thanks..
Bill.
Good morning,
There is NOTHING like a lean, mean German machine, but whichever u like more the Benz or BMW,u will lose a lot.My car 2006 was bought for 170.0000 now the market price is about 130.000.But the driving is sheer pleasure.
As far i am concerned,Serendipity is right,H3 wont get a good price.I checked a couple of months ago at the agency for used ones, the price range is huge between new and used, even with low mileage.
I don't think the H3 would be easier to resell. In the weeks/months I've been here, I noticed some ads that kept getting repeated from a family trying and failing to sell their Hummer.
And anyway, they are totally irresponsible from an environmental point of view.
Toyota corolla 2006 & 2007 is a dump car. go for MERC or BMW for that matter. Who the hell want to drive crappy corollas and sunnys.
.....awesome suaveeee!!! its digital functions, 1.8cc engine! but i dont like the body shape:((( not upto my taste!
Thank you so much ladies and gents, I think i'll go for the WHITE camry :o) (by the way, the showroom had only white camryz.. must be for a reason! ;)
Mine is a 2006 one. My parents were here for the Asian Games and i desperately needed a car. If i waited for 2007 model, then i coiuld get it only in February. So i did the next best thing, i purchased the 2006 model. First hand. I havent stopped loving it since.
Before i bought my car, i was thinking of buying toyota corolla due to its resale value in the market. Another reason is to get rid of rudeness of some orange taxi drivers.
But i realized later that.... most "orange taxi" are toyota corolla:P
stealth... I think you missed the Nissan Sunny..
Greeker...what about the Civic 2007 model. I really like the Purr the engine makes when you step on it.
And Yeah.....I too was almost outcasted from our community when I chose the Honda brand.
Corolla is not just with mallus only jackmohan.
There are other nationalities also that are behind it.
Corolla is one of the most trouble free cars.
I have no idea, my man. When i decided to go the Honda way, thirteen mallus advised me against it. I just held on, i was quite taken by its riding comfort and the lebanese beauty looks, hehe. Anyways, after five years, even if i sell it for a loss, i would have done iot after five years of perfectly pleasureable driving...
With corolla generally you get the best resale value.
Just try putting an ad and see the difference.
You really foxed me there.
And here i was, thinking that i am talking to the best guy about cars after MR.Ford himself, hehe. No problems, you dont have to apologise, hehe.
Once again, you foxed me Ahmad44.
Apple...I have a whote, you have a black. Wanna exchange? :)
Greeker..why is it always Corolla or Nissan Sunny..with us mallus?
i'm sorry man i'm tired after a day of work i am just making lame jokes so dont take me seriously, its just a stereotype here that sudanese people always drive a white toyota thats why i made the first comment as a joke, when u mentioned your honda i just went with the flow and made up indian, in reality i have no idea what car would sell.
which embassy i can post my add?
i'm serious here!
ad in the embassy is meant for the Indians coming there or is it for the embassy themselves? I lost it there. But thanks for the info anyway. Being an Indian, i thought most of them would prefer a toyota corolla to any other car. That is one of the fears i had when i took the car and which i still have.
How much demand do you think the car has? Is it easily saleable or does it take an eternity to make a good sale?
Honda civic white you need to post the add in the indian embassy
what about if its Honda Civic, white?
Dont intend to sell my car anytime soon, but am just asking so that I know?
If u go for toyota make sure you buy a white colour car, this way when u want to sell it just go to sudanese embassy and post an add, i guarantee the car will be sold before u put the sign up.
PM me and i will give you my tel no.
I am interested.
I have accepted a job in Oman and I really can't be bothered transferring the loan to a bank in Oman and driving across for that matter.
Its for a Murano, 8500 km, full nissan service history, DVD, parking sensors and Bluetooth installed by Nissan etc.
I know this should go on a classified but what the hell. I shall live dangerously for today.
Oh the loan is over 5 years with 10 installments already paid I think? I can find out if anyone is interested. Monthly payments are 2900QR.
If it is for 1 year I suggest you Rent-a-car.
Add to the cost the cost of servicing the car although a little it still adds to the cost. Rent-a-car is free service every 5000km also it relives you off the trouble in finding a customer and selling moments before you leave the country.
After a year if you sell I wonder if you would get Qr 30,000 for Mazda!!
Toyota's can be bought with your eyes closed....Can always resell it at your price and you will get a buyer.
Hummer will get you around 130,000 a year from now.
Mazda should be around 50,000QR
It is all a personal choice now...all the cars are very different. I'd choose the Aurion as it appeals to me. its V6 should be super smooth. Mazda is underpowered comparatively.
H3 will be easier to resell than the Mazda. But you're paying more than double. Do you really want to pay that much every month?
I had a new Kia Sportage for 10 months. Purchased for QR68000 with full insurance and 7 year warranty (got extra 2 years for free). I sold it for QR60000. So lost QR8000, or QR800 per month. But I think that worked out cheaper than taxis and hire cars.
Also it was really easy to sell it, had so many offers !
All of them. Just pay the installements until you decide to leave and then find somebody to take over the bank loan. simple as that.
I will give an undertaking to take over the loan if it is H3. I have Mazda 3 already
