Who is Golden Man?
I've seen Golden Man mentioned twice on this forum as THE person to go to when looking for a part time cleaning lady. "Call Golden Man"....sounds very CIA/James Bondish. I like it! So he runs a maid agency? Does he represent maids of different nationalities and then you choose one? Do maids cook as well as clean? If you are at work, is it safe to have someone cleaning your house while you're not there...how do you let them in? Anyone else in that situation? Anyone have an e-mail address for this mysterious Golden Man? Much thanks!
Baedaebok and oryx, thanks for the input! Oryx, i pmed you for the contact info. I really appreiciate the referral. I'll keep his number onhand, but might call Golden Man too. Haven't decided what i'm looking for exactly yet and for now i think i'll keep options open (until i get there at least). It is always nice to have someone you know is trustworthy so thanks again for offering up his contact info. :=)
Yes... buy a safe.
A friend of mine was wiped out last year. Really awful. She is not rich - just hard working and had accumulated stuff to take home to her family as gifts.
I am very lucky I have had an excellent cleaner, Sri Lankan for the past two years. Everyone I recommend him to is equally as praising.
He works for some really rich folks and he has all their house keys.
pm if you need his details.

I'm talking to this agency about bringing in and sponsoring a housemaid. They may also give you a part-time non-sponsored cleaning person.
This agency can get you housemaids from different nationalities but, right now, Indonesian housemaids are most available. After you get a visa permission from Immigration office here and give them QR6000 (it's a pricey service), you look through a catalogue of housemaids (pictures, personal info (religion, marital status, kids?, experience, age, etc.) Then you choose.
I think it is OK to let this housemaid stay in your home when you are not in. But buy a safe and keep all your valuables in it (for your protection and hers). If you sponsor a housemaid, you'll need to provide her accomodation (either in your home or elsewhere).
I had a housemaid who did her duties well (took care of our daughter, cleaned, and cooked). Make sure you are clear about her duties from the start! We didn't and so we couldn't check up on what she did because we hadn't told her.
