Oh Delilah
HI community,
just a heads up to everybody with pets currently living in Qatar. The UAE government is now enforcing the "third country" act of the Live Blood Rabbies test (TITA Test) for annimals brought into the UAE from Qatar. This means you will not be able to move from Qatar to UAE or Europe with your pet without the test done.
As per the vet I spoke with this test takes up to three months, for bringing your pet back to Europe the same law applies, so get is done before you must leave in a hurry!!!
My embassy unfortunatelly supplied me with the wrong/old law text, so now we are stuck in our effort to relocate to Europe in a rush (lost my job here last week and need to take a 3 months break before restarting with the same international company)
So in case you know anybody or can help with accomodating our Persian Cat for 3-4 months, please drop me a line.
She is with my family since 4 years, always vacinated for /against rabbies, but now this new test is missing.
Cheers
Abu OW
Please post this on the pets and animals in qatar group. You may find it easier to find help. Also post a picture there.
I am actually very glad you brought this subject up about the blood tests. I had mentioned it some time back, but obviously it's not as common knowledge as I thought.
You can always keep the cat in kennel here for the few months that are necessary. My first suggestion is that you contact Qatar Pet Relocators. You will find info on the group page:

I'd help out but am allergic to cats...good luck tho!
Hallo Anybody our there who can offer advise on my above question
