Hi QL Dudes & Dudettes!

I'll be 1 year in the Co. this August. My contract is renewable every year.

I want to change company for a better opportunity and career.I was locally hired & althogh Qatar Labour Law states that " One could avail NOC after a year of service", but what made me undecided if my Manager won't give me NOC.

Does it really rely to the Company in changing career?

Some advise please....

Thanks a LOT!

if only things were that easy...you can't move to another place without getting the approval of your current sponsor, even if you had spent zillions of years here!!! ..one more piece of information, you can do all the things canarybird told you to do, and still get your residency cancelled and get deported from the country :)))) (am serious, it happened to a lot of people)...best of luck

I'd rather get my hubby.

Just a little information:

1) If you are married and your husband is your sponsor there should be no difficulty to change jobs.

2) Normally you can change your sponsor after one year conditionally and only if the first sponsor agrees (NOC).

3) If you are alone here, the situation is much more difficult

4) To change jobs i.e. to change sponsor there are a great many more things involved. I just did it so I know the procedure.

a) You will need the letter of no objection.

b) You will have to go the the police to have your fingerprints taken.

c) You will have to get a certificate stamped and signed from your Embassy saying you have never been in trouble with the police (police clearance certificate)

d) Your certificates (if any) will have to be stamped by the embassy.

e) When you go to get your fingerprints taken it would be wise to take all this with you plus 2 passport photographs.

g) You will need a letter from youo new employer too.

f) You will need to do all this only when you have a new job.

g) You will probably need a health certificate.

To have all the above things done apart from the Embassy you will have to go to the CID who ae now off the Salwa road

You will always need an exit permit when leaving Qatar (if you have been employed here - this is the rule here). Exit Permit and RP are not directly connected only then when you have to leave. If your RP expires you have I think one week to leave the country. Your residence permit will expire/be cancelled with the end of your working contract.(That is if you are sponsored by your company.

One other thing is take time to talk to the Ministry of Interior they can answer all your questions first hand.

Good luck

Hi,

Rules say u can change your sponsor after u finish ure working contract with them but u have to give them NOC paper.

no sponsorship transfer can be agreed without the NOC letter and some of the nationalities need no claims paper authenticated from the embassy and the ministry of foreign affairs of qatar.

Regards

I think if the company has an offer for you on the table at renewal time, then they won't give you clearance if you refuse the offer.

However, if you 'resign' before the end of your contract you 'might' get clearance. If your husband is your sponsore, may be you can pretend you want to stop work for a while, then start again a few months later. Others may concur or assent on this issue.

If you are 'terminated' for non-disciplinary reasons, you can get clearance.
