Radar detector

Hello everybody,

I am planning to buy a radar detector for my personal use. Is there anybody know if it is legal to be shipped here in Qatar? Do you think it can be intercepted in the custom? In some countries it is illegal to use a radar detector but I am not sure in Doha.

Will you confiscate my Bible, If a custom inspector decides to ask me What kind of book that is?

I love all those experts assuming "You cant do that or bring that"

To those experts assumptions and assumers get some web links post it before "SAYING ANYTHING" about customs rules and regulations for Qatar.

First place to check is your local consulate/embassy and the Qatar Consulate/embassy in your country.

walkie talkies are banned. Qatar law states that anything that can interfere with their communication is banned

there is no traffic law in Qatar that mentions anything about radar detectors

Yes they are banned in Europe and North America

rm instead of getting a radar detector there is another instrument which is in use in USA and Canada. What it does is that it can change the road signal from red to green even when it is not the turn of that specific signal. it is normally installed in ambulances and firebrigade cars.

Try getting that instrument

for radar detector try getting a laser radar detector as the new radars are in qatar are laser based but the radar detectors can only warn you 100 metre before the radar or maximum 200 metres

Yes they are illegal and yes they will get caught if you ship them in. Don't risq it. I did that many years ago in Europe and it gotr confiscated. Not only did I have to pay for the radar detector but I also had a fine that I had to pay. So very expensive for nothing at all

Do you really need a Radar detector in Doha?

What we need is a Tank and one highway for all those crazy truckers.

Of course it is not recommended at all and of course it is illegal to use them. Other issue is those signals of the Radars would keep on changing from time to time and won't be fixed. What can be detected today as an H Signal would be be detected as K signal tomorrow. They keep on changing those because they know that such devices do exist.

The most important thing is .. Why do you need such devices? Just use your own Radar Detector that you got there inside you ...

I haven't seen any hand held units that would require a detector. They all seem to be static cameras or hidden infront of landcruisers.

Cheapest option is to just not break the limit

I'm glad that you asked before placing your order. I had trouble importing IP Phone in Doha, let along a radar detector.

On the other hand, do you really think is it ethical to use such devise?
