Hi,

I'm not sure how many of you will be able to help but hopefully someone will know!

Are there any black hair salons in Doha? If not, is it possible to buy relaxer cream and good quality black hair shampoo/conditioner? Does anyone know of anyone who braids hair in Doha?

Just thought i'd ask before i come out to determine what i really do need to bring!

Thanks in advance guys xx

Pambo is an excellent choice. My wife did her hair (braids) in Pambo 3 days ago - very nice people, excellent service, highly recommended.

There is a salon i go to in Umm Ghualina and the relax and braid afro hairs. The also have got the relaxers and the 'hairs' so no need to carry yours...unless of course u need something extreme. It is called Pambo salon. If you require more infor please PM me.

Has anyone found out more information on hair products and stylists? I am not looking for braids, but regular hair care and styling.

I would also appreciate the information. I have been here for about a month and really need a touch up. I would prefer not to use the boxed stuff and have someone else do it. I will be watching for your post.

There is a hair care products store in the blue mall next to Jaidah flyover. It is on the right handside of the bridge as soon as you go through the roundabout. I am going to get my hair cut there tonight. I will get the number and post the information. They sell all the hair care products even the horse hair, oops weave.

Thanks sooo much... i look into it! ... and that's average for a british salon anyway... normally you have to find mates/aunties etc to do it for less! Ta for the info! x

The name is Afro Chic in Al Gharrafa shopping complex phone numbers 5618774 and 5960741. My wife uses braids, and they do quite a decent job. They also provide the extension "hair" but where they order it I have no idea. And it was rather expensive - around 600 QAR.

Also the place is "ladies only, men not allowed", so every time my wife had to tell them something, she had to call me on the phone, and ask me to translate, as I couldn't go inside :)

There are supposedly afro salons in Hilal and Musheireb, but so far nobody could tell us exactly where they are.

Thanks... that's something anyhow. Can you let me know where the Salon is? or a telephone number for them? - and i'll have a look once i've arrived. If your wife knows how to relax perhaps we can do each others, i'm planning on bringing some relaxer with me... can you buy 'hair' in Doha? Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks once again, S

My wife has the same problem. There is one nigerian salon where they do braids, but they don't do relaxing. So far we were not able to find any other alternative.
