I have been in Qatar for nearly 3 years and reading about the Qataris and all their habits(bad) I can only say that they are a very proud nation and I have had more good experiences than bad from this country and its people.

No Oman is beautiful and the people are wonderful. Mountains and Wadi's and beautiful ocean. Also they have pork and you can get alcohol in more places. :D

I will agree with Port on that one, although I'm not big on all the Qataris i have met, but yeh the one's that I have are truely nice and warm.

Needless to say, I think the Omani's top the list of being the nicest people in the GCC.

Ha ha lol, I'll take 'not bad' over 'harsh' anyday! Funny, I've always thought of myself as 'very friendly'!

Port Alfred, thanks for the kind words...

I think some expats exaggerate in critisizing Qataris.

Believe me that a lot of Qataris I met are like a lovely breeze in the heat of the summer, here. They were so polite, educated, mannered, modest, kind, helpful & down to earth.

In every nation there is the good & bad and Qatar is no different than the rest. I just hope that people/expats remember that before exploding on the people of this small & fresh country.

It is interesting to know though, that some expats have classified Gulf people to:

Oman & Bahrain: very friendly

Qatar & UAE: not bad

Saudi & Kuwait: harsh

Thank you Wouter and PM for being positive about Qatar! It's always good to hear that people are happy living here...
