"A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and
his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good
conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so
many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed,

there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop,

he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist
because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and
untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! " answered the barber. "What happens, is, people do not come to me."

"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

I agree with Chairboy. I also didn't feel quite right about the presence of this post on public forums. but then again, this is the duty and responsibility of Mods to make sure people are posting their topics on the right forum pages.

Oh why has been brought back to life - I seriously am offended by reading this in the public forum - dont want to disrepect anyone but I resent being force fed this stuff in the public forum when there is a perfectly good home for it elsewhere.

Well,.What is the definition of God?

For a person to say there is no God they need to be able to define and know the meaning of what god is

For example. If I hold a book and say that this is a pen and not a book. For the opposite person to say ‘it is not a pen he should know what is the definition of a pen, even if he does not know nor is able to recognize or identify the object I am holding in my hand. For him to say it’s not a pen, he should at least know what a pen means. Similarly for person to say (there is no God), he should at least know the concept of God (( Say, “He is God, the One. God, to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” ))- (Quran, 112:1-4)

one of my fav's - thanks!

God/Allah/the great 'I Am'.. exists in ones's heart, soul and mind, only if one has the courage to admit and acknowledge it.. other than that people will make up stuff to make it look like He/She does not exist... :)

The premise does not work.

replace the word god with Santa Claus, fairies, Thor, Zeus and my favourite - The Invisible Pink Unicorn, and you've proven these exist in god like form as well.

Good try but D- on your report card :D
