Currency exchange & money transfer to Far East

Hello,

Would like your experience ... where is the best place/company for money transfer to your homecountry (i.e. better exchange rate + low money transfer fees)? If you have one, do you know if they exchange riyals to Hong Kong dollars as well (or you could give me their phone nbr for my checking).

Thanks!

Money is safest at home!

Thanks siiimon. I am thinking of changing my currency to GBP for TT back to HK, as it is likely USD will remain week.

I heard from various sources that Al furdan gives good rates, so I definitely will have a look tomorrow.

Have a nice weekend.

Think2, as both currencies are pegged with US dollars, the best way is to change it to US then change again to HK$ in HK. that's even better than the TT rate in HSBC.

For other currencies, I heard the Al furdan one near the gulf cinema is not bad, haven't try them before.

1. bank having very bad exchange rate.

2. AL JAZEERA Exchange, having bad exchange rate although the transfer fee only a little.beware of the transfer fee. sometimes cheap transfer fee giving you bad exchange rate. sometimes if the transfer fee is high/expensive,they will give you good exchange rate.

4.i heard Al-Fardan Exchange near AL-Ghanim Bus Station giving you good exchange rate

5. Lari exchange (Tel: 4419010) gives the best rate for our currency (Indian Rupees), check with them you can ask for better rate if the amount is big.

6.Check National exchange & Gulf exchange .ther offer good rates.

7. across the Nissan showroom..it is AS-SAAD exchange. Their QR to Phil Peso rate is fair enough, and can do door to door or bank to bank transfer for about 15 - 17 QR no matter the amount and money arrives 1 to 3 days usually

8.Western Union giving you normal fee and normal currency.

You can check the rate on http://finance.yahoo.com/currency with deviation 1-2%.

but sometimes we can get a hint whether the exchange has better rates or not. Just see the queue. if there are a lot of people queue / inline just in 1 exchange company eventhough there are many other exchange company in complex ( like AlGhanim, near sofitel, near Souq,as-saad ). we can assume they have good currency.

Anyone has other experience ? Please share here........
