Women forced to change sponsorship

I have a question:

In a certain company in Doha, they have issued a new policy, that all female staff must be under the company's sponsorship, without exception. All the current and new staff. It doesn't matter if you are married, have children, single, divorced...

According to the certain rules in here, the father or the husband is responsible for the lady, even if she is working.

Now, if this lady is now being forced to change her sponsorship (or resign), what happens if she'd get terminated and would have to leave the country? Or wants to go somewhere with her father/husband and she needs exit permit from her employer every time?

Is it even legal in this country to force such thing on female staff?

At least now my woman would be sponsored by her employer and she can sponsor me & get me a family visa to Qatar

Yipeeee

herne:

it is not so easy to quit ur job, expecially if u like it and it is ur source of income.

tcom:

well, if such things do not happen in Qatar, then why this institution did that? (and btw, it is not really a private company)

Maria.m:

I know that this is the general proc that husband signs NOC for his wife to work and then they issue a work permit... but can any company, legally, ask for the lady to change her sponsorship? Can they force her?

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

I would resign from a company immediately. Nobody has the right to force such thing on females.

Maria _ you are not requierd to change sponcership if you are under husband's sponcership. You only need NOC to apply for a work permit.

Charan, I would say this is 'the' chance for a good bargain with the company. Why get uptight about visa permit ? It is the legal procedure.

Irrysa - What Maria said is the correct procedure. I don't know what will happen if she goes under company's sponcership. If i were your friend I will quit the job and look for a new one.

Irrysa, if a lady is married and under husband's sponsorship it is considered illegal to work. In such a case, husband should supply NOC and based on that, company will prepare a work permit. One is still under husband's sponsorship. In that case you don't need an exit visa. Well, that's how my company works.

Is there some law about this? What can a lady do in this case?

I know that there would be no objection letter from husband/father required if such lady would agree...but what can she do if she doesn't want to change her sponsorship?

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

I have not heard that there is a new law concerning this but anyway I will check it out.

A wife on a husband's sponcership only needs non objection letter from the husband to work in any company. company has no right to ask for a change of sponcership. looks like they want to have slaves under their belt.
