What to bring, what to bring?

I'm wondering if anyone can advise me on some specific food-type things and whether or not I should bother bringing them or if they are easily accessible there. We'll be coming from the States so that's my frame of reference.

* Spices (garlic salt, other blends, taco mix, etc.)
* Splenda
* Crystal Light (low-cal lemonade mixes)
* Vanilla (is this considered alcoholic?)
* Marshmallows (someone told me they have pork product in them and aren't available in Dubai - are they in Doha?
* Anything else I might be missing? Or rather, that you miss and can't get there?

Thanks!!

Hi, I dont think you have to worry about what to bring in Doha. relatively, you'll find it interesting to see most of the things you have from your own country in here. Supermarkets vary sometimes on products, but in most cases you'll find what you are looking for in one supermarket to another.

Tacos, check.

Vanilla, check

Marshmallows, check.

Splenda, I dont know what that is...but, check (it could be in the Base)

Crystal Lite, check.

Spices, check (they have the FULL range here!)

See yah!

I'll try and adress your list (the stuff I know about anyways):

1) Spices: widely available here (even taco and fajita mixes and stuff) even some new ones we discovered here that were not available back home.

2) Splenda: No idea i'm affraid, we don't use the stuff.

3)Crystal light: We could not find it here, so my wife brought it from Canada on her last visit....bring it with you if you are addicted to it as she is lol.

4) Vanilla: I don't know if you mean the bean or the extract. Vanilla extract IS available here in supermarkets.

4) Marshmallows: definetly available here, I picked some up just last week from the Carrefour.

5) The stuff WE found missing are specific brands (ex: Cherios cereal...they have honey nut cherios but NOT just plain Cherios, we looked everywhere....Fruity TUMS...the heartburn medication....my wife always gets me from Canada....stuff like that).

Hope that helps, and good luck with your move.

Stay safe.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?

don't forget to bring yourself and you will be fine...i think there are so many spices here..anyway i never know what is what, and even don't try to determine it..., unless it's salt or black pepper, maximum paprika...lol...
