Appalling Dubai legal system

Did anyone else see this story on a French boy raped in Dubai, on the front page of the International Herald Tribune on Thursday?

"Alex and his family were about to learn that despite Dubai's status as the Arab world's paragon of modernity and wealth, its legal system remains a perilous gantlet when it comes to homosexuality and legal protection of foreigners."

A moving article, and incredibly embarrassing for Dubai.

Now that Qatar is bidding for the Olympics, I wonder if the same media scrutiny will be applied here.

A local 12years boy was gang raped by a group of elder teens. He was taken by force from one of the shopping malls.His family has reported the incident, but they'll definitely drop charges With rumors that the accusers all from one of the biggest bedioun clans!
