Club's

Hi all,

My wife and I arrive in Doha in Jan 2008. We are currently in Riyadh (last 4 1/2 years) and are both British. We want to join one of the beach clubs in Doha as soon as possible - private beach, good facilities vis gym, spa perhaps, ability to sunbathe (in swimsuits / bikini's), relaxed, informal etc.

We have a copy of the Qatar Explorer and it does cover clubs / beach clubs but we feel it is possibly out of date (First Edition, produced before the 2006 Asian Games).

Can you tell us the current situation re club membership / rules / restrictions etc in Doha? Where would you recommend we join and an idea of membership availability / waiting lists / costs etc?

Many thanks in advance

Nothing much changed since 2006 when it comes to clubs. You need to apply as of now to enroll in the Loooooooooooooooooong waiting lists.

Everything is great and you will of course enjoy Qatar, however to join and of the clubs Sheraton etc. you will also have to join a waitig list and there is a long line of people in front of you.

Best thing is to try and see what you get.

go check Intercontinental hotel, Ritz Carlton, Sheraton or Marriot. Those hotels have the facility you want and they all located at the beach side. although you have money to pay but waiting list is pretty long. good luck.
