Where the heck do you store..

Mom_me

Yes where do you store the old clothes you plan to give to the 'Salation Army' some day, the extra cutlery/blankets/suitcases/bedsheets for those 'just in case' moments, the adopted odd coffee cups who lost their families and the old books/reference books/magazines/newspaper cuttings....... the list is endless. No matter how many wardrobes/runners/book cases/wood baskets... I buy my house is spilling over the brim.

i gave 100s of baby's items to qatar charity, they spent 15mn thanking me for it, as it was all in good condition!

b carefull, if it's broken or in bad shape, or dirty they will throw it in the huge garbage bins around their building.

these items are sent to palestine, africa and many other countries.

sometimes i find people even digging in the bins for their needs...

Thank you Qatari. I really appreciate it.

Skdkak, I don't think they will accept second hand clothes. Just yesterday my watchman enacted a shivering scene in front of my husband and asked for a brand new jacket just like hubby's !!!. He really looked funny trying to explain how he shivers since it is too cold. Thanks for the suggestion.

What secrets !! I have a 3 year old for pete sake. I guess my rubbish remains with me if the labourers won't take it. When in Sharjah I used to drop it at the Thomas Cook branch.

CB, I have a lot of toys and women clothing to spare. I don't care about the labourers nationality as long as someone is putting them to use. I am sure some have their families with them so I can donate old clothes.

Either I collect them or you can bring them to me whatever is best for you.

My neighbour is the representive for all foreign Nepalese working abroad, however he ditributes to Sri Lankan and Indians alike.

He just set a store for abandoned labourers until so they can use everything.

oh, and I store it in the trunk of my car… as back home we have these huge boxes (booths) all around the city, where you can put your clothes, feet wear, home stuff… so I usually keep items for donation in my trunk.. but sometimes I carry this stuff for few months till get rid of it (keep forgetting..lol)

don't store it..take it over to the workers camps and gift it to them. I'm sure they can use it and will definitely appreciate any and everything you have since they have nothing and certainly not enough money to buy items. that way you get two birds with one stone...room in your house and you help others out.
