ARAMEX Shop&Ship

To all QLers out there, has anyone tried using the services of Aramex in Salwa Road for on-line purchases? I am planning to avail of their Shop&Ship services but let me first have some idea about your good or bad experiences with them.. On their website you can see how convenient it will be to purchase on-line even without being a resident in US or Europe. But does it really work? And how much do I have to pay per transaction?

Thanks guys!

Generally there should be no customs for small items for personal use. If there is a custom charge involved then Aramex Doha will keep you informed.

i hve just opened an aramex account...i need to know if I hve to fill any customs form for any items being shipped to here or if the person sending me the stuff has to. because im not telling the person sending it that im in qatar...theyre just sending it as gift to my aramex account...do they need to fill the customs form or does aramex just do it themselves

mdady - I have ordered from Amazon with no problem. I have never had an issue having a different shipping and billing address. I think this is a pretty common thing, especially if people order things as gifts and have them mailed straight to the intended person. Shouldn't be a problem.

I have used this service in Bahrain for bringing in books mainly from UK/US publishers - works fine for smaller shipments.

I never had to pay any local customs at any time making online purchase. Most of my purchases have always been of 3 to 4 items only at one time.

Did anyone experience problems with local customs due to applying charges on personal things?

I have ordered some time ago few books and the courrier asked for 500 QRs as customs and clearance charges. Had to go in person to the airport to clear the issue with the customs officer and get the books without charges.

I have a Credit card from a local bank in Qatar and an Aramex mail box. I have been purchasing items from Amazon and also from Apple store without any problems.

Has anyone bought stuff from Ebay or Amazon using a credit card, as I have an Aramex mail box in the US, but the problem is that most sellers will not ship to an address other than the credit card billing address.

I asked my bank to add my Aramex mail box as a trusted address but they said it is not possible.

How to do in this case, can any one advice ?

Thank you for your help

Does anyone bought things form ebay or amazon ?

If yes how can you do so as they don't accept to ship to an address other than the credit card billing address, I asked my bank HSBC to add my aramex mail box as a trusted address and they said it is impossible, how to do in this case?

Kindly advice urgently.

Yes - it's better to get everything in one box. They do charge a minimum for each package so you don't want to be using it for magazine and such. No need to go by the store to set up - do it online and a rep will contact you soon after. Then you will get an email with a UK and US address.

I ordered some things from the states... It was 4 of the same items.. shipped in seperate boxes...

but the problem was they charged me diffrent for all 4 things,,,so I feel they over charge,, you need to watch out!

Make them weigh your things infront of you before you pay!

Go to their website: www.aramex.com and set it all up from there. There is also tons of information about their shop and ship program. We just started using the service and so far so good. I have used it for online purchases and family sending Christmas gifts...good luck!

I am using their service, would rate them as average. The charges depend on the weight of the package. I think they charge something like 25 to 30 Qr. per Pound. I am using this service as I do not know any other local company offering this service. HTH
