Hi. I recently joined Qatar Living and saw this post. I know this is a yera old but I just want to know if these items are still available? I'm particularly interested LV bag and wallet and the Hermes wallet as well.

Please let me know if you have other stuff for sale.

Thanks.

nope, can't clarify anymore than you did ^_^

Compared to others on the forum, you spoke your side and explained your reasoning :D

lol...well, I guess whatever the technicality the point is that the Middle East stores are listed on the official Louis Vuitton website, have the Louis Vuitton name over the door and they sell the genuine article as I can testify by many a handbag and suitcase!

Amnesia, I have the most terrible habit of wanting the last word...my poor long-suffering husband tells me that anyway....so I will now shut up and give you the floor for any further clarification :)

Yes I know of Damien, I've asked to send an email off to him to see if he can clarify.

This is my understanding. There are stores where LV directly manages and maintains. Within the Middle East anyway, external companies are managed by locals (legally). LV refuses to open 'franchises' because that's simply not in their strategy or the image they want to promote. LV therefore gives permission and licensing to agents to run LV stores using the same practices as a franchise would (except it isnt'), and signs an agreement to allow a GM to ensure that the quality and standards are met. Although in essence it's the same, legally and technically it's not.

On a side note, here's an interesting read.

@ luckd, I know what I'm talking about because it's my uncle who owns the license in Qatar.

I don't know why there is a lack of trust or why i always have to explain.

They opened in Kuwait and aparantly the owner of the license was 'giving away' goods. Since then, they decided they would NOT be opening an OFFICIAL (meaning managed and maintained by LV exclusively) store.

You may see a store with the logo, with the goods, and with the same design as all over the world, but they are not the official stores. Please try to understand what I'm saying.

The stores ARE official Louis Vuitton ones. The GM for the Middle East for Louis Vuitton is Damien Vernet. He said to go to the Louis Vuitton website for the listings of the official stores in the Middle East.

Harvey Nicks in Dubai sells Jimmy Choos and there's another store in Dubai too. Also sold in Bahrain, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi.

Burberry available in Jeddah, Riyadh, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.

Coach stores are in Bahrain, Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar (Saudi), Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

I recommend Harvey Nicks (Nichols) in Mall of the Emirates in Dubai as a good starting point for some higher end shopping.

Happy shopping everyone!

there are no LV shops in the Middle East (official ones).

Hopefully it'll change because I read that China, Japan, and GCC countries buy LV the most out of any other country/region
